2003 dodge caravan: heater core..water pump..air doors & controls

Customer Question

2003 dodge caravan - heater not working. I have had the heater core replaced, thermostat, water pump. All the air doors & controls have been checked. Mecanic put a restrictor in the heater hose & it worked great for 1 day & now no heat again. Any suggestions ??

Did he take temp readings on the heater hoses at the core?

Reply to sunvalley brian's Post: Temps were taken. The heat will work fine one morning & then not at all the next ??

You should have them take the temps on the heater hoses at the firewall. If the temps are good the problem is inside. If they are not good you have problems with the engine making enough heat.

The doors under that dash that change from hot to cold can be recalibrated with the factory DRBIII scan tool at a dealer if the problem is on the inside.
