Hello This is Scott.

There are two different type of 4.7 L motors . The Major differences are the Computer and the cam and crank sensors and wheel/ sprockets. There was a computer change from JTEC ( jeep/truck engine controller) to NGC (next generation controller). The easy way to tell is by the number of connectors on the controller. The JTEC controller has three connectors. The NGC computer has four - or the space for four connectors. The NGC controller uses a faster computer. The flex plate/ ring gear on the back of the crankshaft has many more "slots" that the older JTEC . The camshaft sprocket of the passengers side also has more slots. This provides more precise location of the cam and crankshafts. You will need to use the original truck computer and inspect the cam sprocket on the passengers side of both motors and swap them if there is a difference. The same goes for the Flex plate/ ring gear. I would also swap the sensors. If you need more info. please ask , And Please Click Accept - Thanks Scott
