oil pressure gauge is very irratic.

oil pressure gauge is very irratic. reading can go from normal(40-50 lbs press.) to zero while driving. as if someone had shut the engine off.

i would install a mechanical oil pressure guage to test pressure and verify the engine is not actually loosing oil presure. the inspect all the wiring for poor connections, corrosion etc....then if that all checks out i would be looking at the guage itself for possibly being faulty.
