Try a Factory Default reset on your camera.Usually, in FujiFilm cameras, that can be done by pressingMENUthen using the down arrow to scroll down to highlightingFACTORY RESETand then pressing OK, etc. If this does not work, let me know:A. how old the camera isB. whether there is any error message when the autofocus failsC. whether manual focus still worksand anything else about the problem that seems relevant.

Your camera is out of warranty - warranties by manufacturers on cameras are usually one year from date of purchase etc.iAF stands for Intelligent Auto Focus. Did the Factory Reset work, or was there no such option in the manner that I described it?
pressed reset and custom reset these were the only reset options neither worked
Have you tried shooting with the Mode dial in the SRAUTOposition and also the position just next to that one that looks like a camera (the Auto mode) ?Does AutoFocus work in either of those two mode settings?
