nothing - what can I try?
Please note the model number is XXXXX
Good morning. Have you tried replacing the battery yet?
I have purchased a new battery and I am still getting the message on my camera screen that the batter is overheating - where do I go from here. I am using genuine Nikon batteries
Ok if you are using OEM batteries and you still get this message even after changing them the problem is in the power control board of the camera. Tis is the board that routes and maintains the power for the camera. There is a diode in the board that is faulty and this is causing the error to appear. In order to fix this would involve having a shop take the camera apart and replace the board. The bad part of this is on this type of camera the cost of doing it would be as much as replacing the camera. This is why you will have a hard time finding a shop that will do it.
