I have a flashing red light at the battery door. Does this

Customer Question

I have a flashing red light at the battery door. Does this mean the battery is dead? I have charged them multiple times but they ( I have two) aren't holding a charge.

Already Tried:
I have charged both batteries. I got one to charge enough to turn the camera on after a delay and the lens extended but the back screen never came on.

Over time these batteries will become unable to hold a full and complete charge. When this happens they may charge enough to provide power to part of the camera but not all of it. This is what is happening in this case. You will need to get new batteries for it. Make sure when you get new ones that you allow them to fully charge before you use them.

what could cause this. Both batteries were good a week ago. Now neither battery will charge? I will be happy to buy a new battery and try it. If this doesn't help do you have any other suggestion before I pay the fee? I don't want to join the site.

Let me ask you this. How do you charge the batteries, in the camera or with a battery charging unit?

Customer replied 298 days and 7 hours ago.

charging unit - I didn't know I could charge them in the camera

On some of them you can but I do not recommend it even when it is possible. I will say that a weak charger can also casue the batteries not to fully cahrge so you may wish to keep it in mind. If you buy a battery and after charging it you find the same problem you may have to replace the charger.
