Help Finepix F 500 EXR Camera says card not initialized and could not read or write. Bought camera Friday. Tried to format many times. Thanks Sue

Hi Sue, took the memory card out from the camera & make sure the card lock key is unlock position. Then insert the card properly & then turn on & see the result.
After that if you face same problem then i suggest you to visit the store with bill & ask for replacement. 2 reason may create this problem.
1. Faulty memory card. OR
2. Camera card slot problem.

Where is the card lock key? I am out of the USA and need help now

Also let you know if you camera having international warranty then you can replace the camera or card from any Kodak outlet around the world.

Relist: Inaccurate answer.
It still says card not initialized; I dont think telling me to take the camera back to the store is worth payment

Sir i mention 2 reason.
1. Faulty memory card. OR
2. Camera card slot problem.

If your camera slot having problem then card can not be install in the camera. PLease let me know is that card came with camera OR you buy separately?
If its come with camera then go any computer or camera store and buy a new card. before buy insert that in your camera and check . If that working then you confirm that the previous card is faulty. f you seen same problem with the new card then its 100% confirm the fault is in camera side. Thank you.

I do not want to pay for you telling me to take the camera back to the store this does not help

Sorry Sue except that there is no solution. Because you don't want to buy a new card and not even visit to go camera service center. For this problem there is no solution except you visit service center or buying a new card and test. Thank you.
