Customer Question

Hi, I bought my daughter a Canon S100 back in January. She accidentally dropped it yesterday. Now the lens will not retract. I can see that the lens is not centered (tilted to off center by quite a bit). What should I do to fix it, or should I send it to a repair center?

Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck and try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only and let me know the result.

It does not work. The lens seems to be really stuck.

Unfortunately what you have described indicates that the problem seems to be with your camera internal lens mechanism thats why you are facing this type of problem. So please contact Canon service center because this type of internal lens mechanism repairing is not possible at your home.I apologize for this inconvenience.
