Dermatology question-red angry spots occur once every 5 or

Customer Question

Dermatology question-red angry spots occur once every 5 or so years on arms and legs. They don't respond to creams, scrubbing. They stay 3-4 weeks, some get a white spot, then get a.small white film over them like a sunburn then peel. All become encrusted & rough.Large ones are 1/2" on down, can be25-30 at an outbreak, Eventually they seem to fade, large ones over 5-6 weeks, but leave scar-like areas w/darkened areas. I have used Tretinoin to no avail. This is the second occurrence even, first two years ago, then now.

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Chip

This sounds like an eczema problem and the tretinoin cream wouldn't work well for that.

You need a prescription cream called Tacrolimus to take care of the problem.
