I have super oily and acne prone skin. I use art naturals

Customer Question

Hi! I have super oily and acne prone skin. I use art naturals clarifying fash wash twice a day and neutrogena lotion for combination skin morning and night. However, my skin remains super oily even 5 minutes after I wash it. What should I do?
JA: How long have you been dealing with the skin issue? Have you noticed any major changes in your overall skin or nails recently?
Customer: for a couple months. the only change is it has gotten much oilier. I also apply a retinoin gel 0.01% each night
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

You can try benzoyl peroxide wash 5% initially daily to wash the skin.
Retinoid should be used in higher concentration. Tretinoin 0.05% for example is advised daily in the evening.
Over the counter tea tree oil can be used daily as well to treat oily skin.

Topical antibiotic ointment like erythromycin 2% or clindamycin phosphate 1% gel also should be considered to treat the problem.
Oral isotretinoin is another option for topically resistant acne and oily skin problem.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
