Hello this is Dr. Salama MD,

The most common causes of bumps on the scalp are known sebaceous cysts which are harmless bumps filled with fat that can be removed by a dermatologist if you like.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

If not, please don't forget to leave a positive rating as that's the only way I get credit for answering your question.

Thank you!

This is not on the scalp. It's on genital area
Expert:  Michael Salama replied 7 months ago.

Can you upload a picture of it?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
It's been 10 days. No change after applying alcohol. It's raised and hard, does not itch or hurt

Thanks for the pictures.

That looks like a folliculitis which is mild inflammation/infection of a hair follicle which is quite common.

I would apply neosporin 3 times a day for 1 week and it will resolve.

If it gets worse or starts draining pus then you will need oral antibiotics.

Thank you.
Why is it raised and did not resolve in a week time?
It's also very hard

Did you try any medication?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
None. What can I try?
Expert:  Michael Salama replied 7 months ago.

I would try neosporin 3 times a day.

It looks like it could also be something known as molluscum which can be treated with over the counter Compound W.
