I swear it's spreading
Expert:  Dr Josh replied 3 months ago.

Dear,

Thanks for sharing additional information.

As such, from the description and after looking at picture, It doesn't sound to be Poison Ivy.

Because, Poison Ivy is associated with- Itching, Swelling, Blister formation.

I am sure, this is not related with Poison Ivy.

Possible reason for such symptoms are-

Irritant Contact Dermatitis. This can cause dry, non-itchy eruption. Certain chemicals like detergents or other cleaning and industrial products can cause this contact dermatitis.

This could also be related with- Heat rash. It is one of the most common causes of red spots on skin that may or may not itch.

Heat rashes are caused due to trapping of sweat below the skin surface due to clogged sweat ducts.

Trigger factors include increased sweating, wearing tight clothes, excessive creases on skin, and prolonged sun exposure.

You should check that you have made any recent changes of soaps, cosmetics, and, detergents.

Such symptoms could also occur with Petechiae/blood spots

For the time, you can take a long oatmeal bath.

Application of natural aloe vera juice would be helpful.

You can start with OTC Zyrtec once a day for next 2 weeks.

After bathing, it is important to trap the moisture in the skin by applying lubricating cream on the skin while it is damp. Use less soap than usual. Avoid prolonged standing or walking. Leg elevation during rest.

You can follow above measures, and would get great help.

Hope this helped

Where do I get that stuff
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Why is it spreading That's what I don't understand
Expert:  Dr Josh replied 3 months ago.

Dear,

I can understand your concern.

Well, there are many common irritants like-

  • soaps and detergents
  • antiseptics and antibacterials
  • perfumes and preservatives in toiletries or cosmetics
  • solvents
  • oils used in machines
  • disinfectants
  • acids and alkalis
  • cement
  • powders, dust and soil
  • water – especially hard, chalky water or heavily chlorinated water
  • many plants – such as Ranunculus, spurge, Boraginaceae and mustards.

It is possible that you may have got through any of the above agents.

Please start with OTC Zyrtec once a day, and use Calamine lotion. It would stop this spread.

Apply cream containing hydrocortisone.

You can go for oatmeal bath and Application of natural aloe vera juice would be helpful.

Please follow the above treatment. This will help you greatly.

Hope this helped.
