Customer Question

about 6 weeks ago I had 7-8 small, red, painless bumps at the base of my penis, with almost all of them having a single hair follicle growing from them. I went to my dermatologist and he gave me mupirocin and doxycycline. They cleared up after a few days but since then I have them reoccur 4 times. Same exact thing. I use the mupirocin and they clear up a few days later. I had another flare up 3 days ago and been using it again, but why does this keep happening? I do exercise a lot and sweat down there. I also have on and off painful bumps on my scalp which I believe is folliculitis. My question is can I have folliculitis on both my scalp and pubic region? Why do I keep getting these recurrences? They are not painful, have no other symptoms, and I would't even notice them if I didn't look down there.

Hello

Thanks for requesting me.

It can be a staph bacteria.

The scalp is likely a separate issues.

You need these sampled for the lab.

Why you get recurrences is an unknown.
