This is Dr. David

can you upload a clear jpg photo of the area?

did you check your mattress for bed bugs?

do you have a photo of the seams of your mattress?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.

Hello Dr. David,

They only appeared the day after I spent the night over a friends... I've never seen bites like this before so I'm assuming I got them over there not my mattress... Here's a pic.

Expert:  Dr. David replied 4 months ago.

after bed bug bites, people develop itching, red welts or swelling the day after being bitten

those could be bed bug bites.

or it could be contact dermatitis from an allergy to detergent in the sheets.

sometimes viral infections like a cold can cause a rash on the skin.

is the area itchy?

looking at just the bites on the skin is not a 100% way to confirm if they came from bed bug bites

but these red spots look like these

Guess I'm going to have to get my friend to check their mattress... I've never had a contact allergy before and no recent colds. Yes they are VERY itchy... Do you think they may be too small and clustered to be mosquito bites?

Expert:  Dr. David replied 4 months ago.

yes, they look too clustered together to be mosquito bites.

yes, have your friend check the mattress

you can try anti itch cream like 1% hydrocortisone cream on the areas to see if that helps
