Hello, this is Dr. Salama MD,

Laser is an option but it is expensive and does not always work.

An alternative, safer option to lamisil is Fluconazole.

Let me know if you have any other questions. If not, please don't forget to leave a positive rating as that's the only way I get credit for answering your question. Thank you.

fluconazole does not have liver involvement?
Expert:  Michael Salama replied 7 months ago.

No, long term fluconazole does not require liver function testing as lamisil does. If you want to be sure, check your liver function tests monthly while on the treatment. It's a bit of an overkill but the only way to insure that your liver is not being affected.

Is there anything else I can help you with today?

Expert:  Michael Salama replied 7 months ago.

Hell this is Dr. Salama MD,

This is a fungal infection which can easily be treated with OTC creams.

I would use clotrimazole 1% and hydrocortisone 1% twice daily for 2 weeks and that should clear it.
