Customer Question

I burned my hand & it has blistered. Is it a good idea to break the blister & let the fluid out or just leave it alone?

This is Dr. David

you should leave it alone.

you need to see a doctor about the burn.

let the blister break on its own

once it breaks, you will need silvadine ointment on the area to prevent infection.

you should still continue to wash the area with mild soap and water very gently.

let me know if you have other questions.
