I have a smooth red on the shaft of my penis. It doesn't

Customer Question

I have a smooth red mark on the shaft of my penis. It doesn't hurt or itch or bother me in any way. No bumps, no blood, no scabs. Nothing of this nature. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. I've been sleeping with the same girl for the past year. I wear condoms. The mark has been there for the past 3 weeks and doesn't appear to be getting significantly better. I have an appointment with a dermatologist but not for a few weeks. However, I'm nervous about not knowing what it could be. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello

Looks fungal.

Ask the dermatologist to prescribe you an anti fungal cream.

Generally it will need to be used 3 times a day for 1 to 2 weeks.

OK, so that is an initial answer….

What about having sex with and without a condom?
Expert:  DrThomasMd replied 11 months ago.

I would use a condom, since it is fungal.

Not likely to transmit, but possible.

Would it transmit without a condom? And what are possible ways I contracted this? I will def post a positive rating. Is there anything I can buy over the counter to help?
Expert:  DrThomasMd replied 11 months ago.

Fungi are around us all the time. Why some get infected is not known.

Diabetes, excessive moisture and poor hygiene can contribute.

Many doctors might recommend chlortrimazole over the counter.

I recommend you see your doctor.

What about transmitting it? Using a condom vs not?
Expert:  DrThomasMd replied 11 months ago.

As I said, use a condom.

As I said, it is not likely to transmit, but can.
