My son had a wart on s finger frozen by a dermatologist

Customer Question

My son had a wart on his finger frozen by a dermatologist yesterday. The finger is swollen and the entire area that was frozen is now black (like a blood blister) and is very painful. Should we lance it or leave it alone?

Thank you for your question. My advice would be to use a sterile needle or lancet but do not pull off the overlying skin. Leave that intact. I would put Aquaphor healing ointment over the area. This is an over the counter product. Aleve or Motrin should help with the pain.
