I've been having discomfort in my fingers, and calluses on

Customer Question

I've been having discomfort in my fingers, and calluses on the inside of my fingers.
While I was exfoliating the calluses I noticed a distinct circle in the crease of my finger.
After about an hour I noticed the circle was dryer than the rest of my skin, so I used some sharp tweezers to define the circumference then freed a plug of ?skin/callus but it was connected to something deep inside the joint via a tail/root.
I'm just curious what it is.

Looks like it was a keratinous plug like seen in a corn .
Did it have a pointed edge?
Was it a thick like a compact mass of skin scale?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I would say it had the shape of a funnel connected to a radish about 2mm sphere with a root about 3mm long. Funnel on the surface.
It was mostly translucent but had a darker core, definitely flesh
Before I started removing the callus, it looked normal other than the small concave where this thing was.
I'd say it felt like I had a piece of glass in there, because if I would push down and laterally on the spot it would hurt as if a foreign object was in there.
I've had them for many years I've just never pulled one out until now.
I just want to find out the name of this so I can read more about it.
