Dermadoc : Hello
Dermadoc : Thanks for posting your query.
Dermadoc : I will be glad to be of assistance and will try to answer your queries till you get a satisfactory answer.
Dermadoc : These are genital warts. Hence they will recur if you clip them also since warts cannot be treated by clipping them.
Dermadoc : I would recommend the application of Aldara cream on the warts once at night on every alternate night. This cream will require a prescription from your doctor.
Dermadoc : The cream will resolve the warts effectively.
Dermadoc : Please let me know if you have any queries.
Dermadoc : I will be glad to answer all your queries till you get a satisfactory answer.
Dermadoc : Thanks.
Customer: How does one get these warts? I have never slept with anyone but my wife and we have been married for 12 years. Would she have them as well? She has also never slept with anyone but me as well. We have 4 kids could they be succeptible? I had actually thout it was molusca because my kids have had that and the bumps look similar to what they had and from other online pictures. Thanks.
Dermadoc : Hello
Dermadoc : Thanks for your reply.
Dermadoc : I am sorry for the delay in replying back to you.
Dermadoc : Warts in the genital area are sexually transmitted. they are caused by a virus called human papilloma virus. The virus can be latent in the body and may not cause visible warts immediately after an exposure.
Dermadoc : The only other possibility in your case its that these could be seborrheic keratosis. They closely resemble warts. They are not sexually transmitted. They are like benign dead skin.
Dermadoc : However you will need to get the lesions biopsied to come to a final diagnosis.
Dermadoc : I would recommend that you visit your dermatologist for the same.
Dermadoc : Since warts are sexually transmitted your wife can get them too. But since you are giving a history of not having had another partner even before the marriage, I am providing another possible diagnosis.
Dermadoc : These are not molluscum and your children are not susceptible to getting these lesions.
Dermadoc : Please let me know all your queries.
Dermadoc : Thanks.
Customer: Wow, that is going to be so embarrassing. Are the small freckle like brown spots the same thing? If they are in fact warts would my wife show them as well? Or could they be dormant? If she has them would they be external to her genital area or internal on women? Since she just had a baby and has been examined by her OB/gyn, wouldn't he notice it? Sorry for the barrage of questions. I thank you for all your help so far I will certainly "rate" your service excellent.
Customer:

are there any natural remedies for either the warts or keratosis that I can try to see if I can get rid of the lesions before heading out to the doctors office and turning beet red? Thanks again. The pictures i have seen online the lesions do look most like warts but i am at a total loss as to how I could get that if both my wife and I have never been with anyone else. Thanks again.

Dermadoc :

hello

Dermadoc :

thanks for your reply.

Dermadoc :

The freckle like brown spots are also the same thing.

Dermadoc :

your wife could show the warts or they could even be dormant.

Dermadoc :

in women, they can be external on the genitals or they can be internal as well.

Dermadoc :

her OB/GYN would surely notice it.

Dermadoc :

there are no natural remedies for the warts or keratosis however.

Dermadoc :

the treatment for warts is aldara cream which can be applied at home.

Dermadoc :

seborrheic keratosis if present needs to be burnt off.

Dermadoc :

aldara cream requires a prescription from your doctor.

Dermadoc :

i would recommend that you not think of the embarrasment but it would be better to get it treated in time.

Customer: I've seen some therapies online talking about apple cider vinegar, high strength hydrogen peroxide, or tea tree oil amongst other things. Have you seen anyone get any results with these?
Dermadoc :

i havent seen any results with these therapies.

Dermadoc :

i would not recommend you to use these.

Customer: Waste of time or just haven't seen?
Customer: Ok
Dermadoc :

to be frank its just a waste of time.

Customer: I'm nervous about the Aldara as there can be weird side effects from what I've read.
Dermadoc :

the modalities of treatment for warts are:-

Dermadoc :

1. podophyllotoxin

Dermadoc :

2. aldara cream

Dermadoc :

3. burning them out

Dermadoc :

4. freezing them.

Dermadoc :

these are the options for treatment depending on the feasibility.

Dermadoc :

but aldara cream is a safe option.

Dermadoc :

i can understand your concern regarding the side effects.

Dermadoc :

however usually they are not seen while being used.

Customer: It's not like I'm putting it on my arm....and burning or freezing anything off of ones genitals hardly seems fun.
Dermadoc :

i can understand but i assure you that aldara cream would be he best option since you can use it at home.

Dermadoc :

you dont have to go to the doctor's office to get the treatment done.

Customer: Thanks for all your time I really appreciate it. So my next step should be a dermatologist not my gp, right!/
Dermadoc :

yes thats right. i would recommend visiting a dermatologist.

Dermadoc :

you are most welcome.

Customer: I'll find one that I won't likely run into on the street or in my neighborhood. Thanks so much again this is a cool service even though it won't save me a trip to the doc this time.
Dermadoc :

i can understand.

Dermadoc :

thanks for your appreciation.
