any ideas?
Yes, this looks like psoriasis of the penis. Fungus in this area, by the way, is very rare...not sure if I have seen it in 35 years. You may need something stronger than Triamcinolone, although that is the right approach. I would use Diprolene or Clobetesol ointment for three weeks. Vectical ointment may help. These are all prescription items. I am afraid over the counter products are too weak. I would use Clobbetesol twice a day for three weeks and then Vectical to prevent it from recurring.
Unless you have severe eczema elsewhere, I would respectfully XXXXXXXX XXXX your physician.
can i stop out breaks?
Definitely NOT an STD.
Hard to stop outbreaks. Usually this magically goes away on its own.
You would have to use something like Vectical or even OTC Aquaphor to perhaps keep it away.
ok my dr is my buddy can you tell me exactly what to have him perscribe strength etc?
im texting him as we chat
Clobetesol ointment 0.05 BID. for three weeks. Be careful not to use this in the groin or longer than three weeks. Then Vectical ointment, 1-2 times a day after that.
Thanks he is calling it in to walgreens now.
is this expensive meds?
Good. You can tell your MD friend that, this is more common than we think..since some patients are reluctant to show their physicians, especially female physicians. Vectical is expensive and you might try a weak steroid such as Desonide ointment. Clebetesol is generic so it should not be too bad.
thanks buddy. goodnight
