Hello,3 years ago I had a laser treatment on upper lip and nothing happened. No hyperpigmentation. Moved to California and slowly I noticed hyperpigmentation and it ended with two marks above my upper lip in the shape of the laser. This has caused great stress as it is hard to hide I went to two top doctors in LA one diagnosed me with Melasma the other used a woods lamp and said I had post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Can the PI hyperpigmentation show up three years after treatment? I do not know who is right. Also, if it is PI hyperpigmentation can I get rid of it and will it come back?

However,this can still be treated with a combination of bleaching chemical peels and fraxel laser. You just need to find a competent dermatologist in the vicinity
