My son has a boil/cyst on his face. A dermatolagist shot it with cortisone twice and it is still there. He is now suggesting surgery to remove it and says he will have to remove other tissue so there will be a indent and scar on his face. Is there another treatment for this? I don't want my son to have a scar and other facial abnormalaties. He is only 16. Please help.

However, please note that this does not substitute an in-person consultation with a doctor.To be honest, the chance if him having a bad scar is much higher if the cyst is left like that when it is inflamed.
