Good evening.

dermdoc19 :

Please clarify, is the sinus drainage from your sinuses or from a sinus tract in the skin?

dermdoc19 :

Thank you.

The drainage is from inside the nose but feels as thou it is my skin on cheeks

Did they place you on an antibiotic?

No

It would seem to me, that the drainage should be cultured and you be placed on an antibiotic such as Zithromax or Augmentin. The sensations you feel on the skin of your cheeks are probably from sinusitis, a chronic infection of the sinuses. One tip: if the antibiotic does not work, your physician might try treatment with an anti-fungal since molds can cause a sinus infection.

I had water damage to my home & mold was growing on walls before I was aware of it - so is an antifungal over the counter cream or is it a prescription

No, it would be the pill version: Sporonox being the best.
