red blotchy spots on lower legs

Customer Question

On my lower legs, I have these red blotchy spots. They don't itch and if you touch then they feel rough. Two weeks ago while out for a walk, I noticed that when I got home I had several small red spots that looked like I had been bitten by something. They disapperaed two days later. This morning When I woke up my legs were very red blotchy. Looking at them closer they almost look like broken blood vessels but are way to tiny. Two of the spots have what feels like a small pimple in the middle. They are not painful to touch. My lower legs do swell and I walk a lot. Around 10 miles a day. I haven't changed my detergent or soap or anything like that. I recently started taking aspirin 325 mg twice a day and clonazepam 10mg for anxiety

Dermadoc :

hello

Dermadoc :

can u give me a few more details?

Dermadoc :

if there is a photo that i can see?

Dermadoc :

from your description it sounds like u got a few petechiae

Dermadoc :

this is when there is leakage of blood from the vessels into the skin.

Dermadoc :

the insect bite that u suspected might have triggered it.

Dermadoc :

u can check out pictures of petechiae and purpura and tell me if thats what u have.

Dermadoc :

if thats what u have, u need to apply cortisone cream over it twice a day.

Dermadoc :

this will help it slowly.

Dermadoc :

also u need to protect yourself from further insect bites by applying a repellant.

Dermadoc :

also if these dont subside in a couple of days then u will need to seek medicalattention.

JACUSTOMER-lhmnj4zi- :

yes i can send a photo

Dermadoc :

the only other possibility was cellulitis, but in that there is swelling , pain and redness in that area.

Dermadoc :

please post the photo her using the paper clip sign.

JACUSTOMER-lhmnj4zi- :
