Hi I have extemely dry, itchy, flaky skin on my feet which I scratch until making it red & sore. I have had it for so long now and have tried every natural remedy. I have a permanent discoloration of red making it hard to wear any footwear that shows it off. I spoke to a herbalist who said it might be a fungal infection and suggested Tea Tree oil. This has not worked either, any suggestions.?
The healing process takes place really quicky and then I just pick off all the healed skin again as it is so irritating.
It originally started to take place after having my plaster removed from a broken ankle but is now on the other foot as well.
Hello,

Sorry for the sufferings.

The symptoms can be due to a few possibilities.

This can be due to psoriasis.

The other possibilities are fungal infection, dermatitis etc.

In fungal infection of the foot you will need long continued antifungal medicine, often oral medication is required too.

An examination by a dermatologist needs to be taken.

A testing of the skin scraping can be needed to pin point the diagnosis.

Treatment will vary according to the diagnosis.

Long term treatment may be needed.

I hope this information helps.

Happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.
