Recently I noticed under my left arm a bruise ring, it covers

Customer Question

Recently I noticed under my left arm a bruise ring, it covers the whole armpit, perfect circular shape. It is pink, then changes to brown, then fades.. it was gone for 1-2 months, and then returned. What is this? Should I be concerned? Monique, Female 44 years old.

My response:

Is it tender over the area of discoloration?
No tenderness at all. No pain, nothing.

Any trauma to the area?
No (though it is the same arm in where I have a chronic dislocation history, but haven't had a dislocation in about a year (already had surgery, but it still comes out from time to time, when I do a certain movement).

When was your last mammogram?
I am due for my next mammogram in December. I am current. No issues with my last (1st mammogram) mammogram last year.

Any change in your exercise/activities recently?
No I have been working out religiously for the past 2.8 years (average 4 days a week).

Note: I have had a rash that appeared on my chest about the same time the redness appeared the first time. But, that has since gone away. I assumed that was an allergic reaction to something (either I ingested, or to a metal necklace??).
