Hello,

How long are you having this?

Did you have any test or treatment?

Did you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
started a year ago, but seems to be getting worst. saw a dermatologist, who couldn't find anything. I have got blood work done, but no diabetes. my mother is diabetic.

other symptoms are hot flashes, weight gain since the hot flashes began. I am about 35 lbs over weight.

Thank you for the information,

The rash and itching in underarm skin, under the breast fold, groin area are most likely due to fungal infection which is known as intertrigo.

It usually occurs due to sweating or moisture.

Sometimes bacterial superinfection may occur.

A review by dermatologist can be taken.

Keep area dry and cool.

Use cotton and loose underwear.

You can need antibacterial and or antifungal cream.

Darkening of the skin can also be seen in adrenal gland insufficiency.

This will need hormonal study & consultation with an endocrinologist.

I hope this information will be helpful.

Please ask if you need any clarification.

Thank you.

THANK YOU DR. SAHA!

Is the darkening and itching related? Does cortaid work?
Expert:  Dr .Saha replied 4 years ago.
Itching of long duration can lead to darkening.

Corticosteroid can help.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
It's just that darkening happened before the itching episodes started. Now the itching comes and goes but darkening is still there. Thank you for looking into this for me. My doctor didn't address these concerns and gave me some creams which didn't help. itching is mostly in the underarm and below the breast - not in the groin area. Thank you!
Expert:  Dr .Saha replied 4 years ago.
If the darkening has started before the itching , then you can consult an endocrinologist for an opinion.
