Hi Thanks

The alternative will depend upon the site and extent of the warts.

  • For genital warts, Wartec( a cream containing podophylin) is an alternative, not as effective as Aldara, but useful in most cases, though it is not advisable in pregnancy.
  • On palms and soles, application of solutions containing salicylic acid or lactic acid plus the antiviral 5-flurouracil to the warts and regular pairing(cutting) every 4-5 days will get rid of the wart.
  • TCA applications, electrocautery, and cryosurgery are other alternatives.
