HELP I HAVE A THREE TOOTH BRIDGE. ONE TOOTH CROWN LOOSENS

Customer Question

HELP I HAVE A THREE TOOTH BRIDGE. ONE TOOTH CROWN LOOSENS EVERY 4 MONTHS. I HAVE NO PAIN OR INFECTION. MY DENTIST SAID I HAVE A FRACTURED ROOT UNDER THE CROWN THAT HAS HAD A ROOT CANAL. HE WANTS TO EXTRACT THE ROOT AND TOTALLY REMAKE THE BRIDGE FOR $6,700. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hello there, Unfortunately if the root has fractured there is no choice other than to remove the bridge, extract the fractured root & tooth and either have a new bridge made, implants (which will likely be a costlier solution) or a removable partial denture (The least expensive and least well liked). The old bridge cannot be reused. If you choose to have a new bridge made, it is certainly a good solution. And, even though $6,700 is quite a bit of money it is a reasonable fee for this service. Please let me know if you need additional information to answer your question. Otherwise I'd appreciate a positive rating for my effort. Dr Shernan
