I just stopped smoking and for the last week my gums have been bleeding and my teeth and gums are so sensitive. I have otherwise healthy teeth and gums. Help!

Hello,

Thanks for putting up your question on Just Answer.

Stopping smoking does not cause bleeding of gums. This is just a coincidence. The symptoms you are now experiencing may be because of build up of local irritants like plaque and calculus.

Please see your dentist so that a scaling appointment can be scheduled.

Hope this answers your question. Feel free to contact me again for more information.

Please leave a positive rating if my answer has helped you. I do not get credit for it otherwise!
