My gum is swollen behind my last tooth. The Dentist said

Customer Question

My gum is swollen behind my last tooth. The Dentist said something had rubbed it on the side. He gave me a rinse and some meds . When I read the papers that came with the med, it said it could kill me. I am afraid to take it. I am old but have always been healthy.

Did the dentist attribute the swelling to an infection? What medication did he give you? Did he say the swelling was related to the tooth?Did the dentist take an xray of this area?
