Hi, I am here to help you.
From the position where the lump is situated, I do not believe it is an ear infection
Can you hold on for a second?
I am on the phone with a patient...
should I come back later?
I'm almost done...
I'm so sorry!!!
I just put braces on a little girl...
and she had tons on questions!
I'm back now...
So, from what I was reading...
I do not believe the lump is from the ear infection
Do you have a cavity ,or an old filling in the area where you have the lump?
just 2 root canals
It can be originated from there too...
what antibiotic are you on?
That will also work on the tooth… that is why you are feeling less pain...
Will you continue the antibiotics for the weekend?
When did you start them
Saturday, the pain in my jaw returns as soon as the motrin wears off, about every 8 hrs
ok? Did you go to the doctor? did he diagnose the ear infection?
because a tooth infection can give you ear ache….
yes, I went last friday. She said I have both a liddle and outer ear infection in my right ear. I also had sinus cogestion but that is gone now. Also my ear does still hurt.
Ok… The antibiotic should help until you see the dentist. You will have to call and try to get in on Monday.
In the meantime, try warm salt water rinses,
continue with the Motrin
can a tooth that had a root canal cause pain and an infection?
or you can alternate every 3-4 hours between 1000 milligrams of acetaminophen (2 Extra-Strength Tylenol tablets) and 400 milligrams of ibuprofen (2 tabs of Advil).
yes, it can...
unfortunately tylenol does not work on me
even if the nerve is dead, the infection goes beyond the tooth and into the bone and can cause pain
the combination is more effective than Advil alone...
try alternating it
I will give that a try
You have to go to the dentist on Monday….
ok, I will call
you need to sleep with an extra pillow
because lying down will make the swelling worse
Is there anything else I can help you with?
no thanks, that covers it.
Keep me posted and good luck!
