Resolved Question:

I have found a hard bony lump on my upper left hand gum. It is not really sore but quite big. Almost the size of a marble. Any ideas what it might be?

thanks for posting your question on Just answer

if the lump has suddenly appeared it could be a infection, or even a cyst.

sometimes or more often, people suddenly notice things that were already present but did not see it before

if you have not noticed it before and now suddenly you have noticed it

it most likely could be a torus palatinus as described below

however this is just to give you an idea, I would definitely recommend an exam and x ray and check up with your dentist
