Hi, I'm Heather, an attorney with 15 years experience.

Normally, poly graph tests are used by police officers for informational purposes and to assist them in the direction to go in their investigations. Generally polygraph tests are inadmissible in court, so police cannot base their case on a polygraph result by itself, because they are not deemed to be reliable enough.
