I just need to know what they are so that I can provide the information you seek.Under sec. 521.457 of the Texas Transportation Code, DWLI is a misdemeanor punishable by (1) a fine of not less than $100 or more than $500; and (2) confinement in a county jail for a term not less than 72 hours or more than six months. It is an arrestable offense. The police have discretion to arrest or give notice to appear in court. So, it was not necessary that the police arrest you, but they had the authority to do so.Please feel free to ask any follow up questions.
