Basically, you would pay an extra fee to have your marriage record made confidential, which means your marriage license information would not be available to the general public.
Does that make sense?
yes, however, what is required, i.e. a waiting period, witnesses, how long does one have to wait to get the license in California, can one get the application online, etc?
Where in California are you planning to get married? What county or city?
Long Beach, California
Here is the link for the Los Angeles County Clerk's office that has all the information related to marriage license in LA County.
It appears that you can have the license issued the same day within an hour wait or you can even apply for the marriage license online.
Also the website lists all the other requirements, such as fees and id's required to get married.
Thank you. That information is most helpful.
