I suspect that a lawyer represented both my friend and the opposing party. Are there any court documents relative to the case/trial that can be obtained that display the name of the lawyer for both parties?

Customer:

Thank you

Alex Esquire :

Do you suspect the the same lawyer represented both your friend and the opposing party in the same court case?

Customer:

I suspect it. But, My friend who was on trial seems certain of it. So I'm in need of the court document(s) related to that trial that displays the lawyer's name.

Alex Esquire :

Sure.

Alex Esquire :

Each attorney would file a notice of appearance for each party that they represent.

Alex Esquire :

So you can visit the courthouse and the clerk of the court would be able to provide you with the case file, so you can review it.

Alex Esquire :

Does that make sense?

Customer:

Can that notice of appearance be obtained from the court clerk?

Alex Esquire :

Yes

Alex Esquire :

You can go to the courthouse and request the entire court file for your review.

Customer:

I see.

Alex Esquire :

Generally, the same attorney would never be able to legally represent opposing parties, due to the obvious conflict of interest.

Customer:

That's true, but, by reviewing the notice of appearance, this will clear things up, 1) it will prove that my friend is wrong, or 2) my friend is right

Alex Esquire :

Correct

Alex Esquire :

Do you have any related follow up questions?
