After Non payment of a traffic ticket and not appearing in court, I received a warrant notice for my arrest. I am instructed to go to police station of violation. What are my consequences?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: New Jersey
Hello Jacustomer,If this is about papying a traffic ticket, if you show up at the police station, you can expect to be incarcerated and that when you come before the judge, bail will likely be set in the amount of the ticket and penalties, so that whether you come back to court to deal with the case or not after you make bail, the state doesn't lose any more money.

When you say incarcerated you mean I will be taken into custody at police station? How long would they hold me. I can pay for all fines and ticket asap.
Hi Debbie,Yes, I mean you will likely be put into jail at the police station. I don't know that they would be able to take the fine from you, as there may be penalties for lateness that would have to be added by the judge. If they set bail on you, you could make bail and come to court to pay off the fines. If they don't, the judge will impose the fines when you appear in front of him and someone on the outside could pay those for you so that you could get out.
