can i rent a apartment with a 6 year old felony battery on a leo and resisting arrest with violence
State/Territory: sarasota fl
no iv been so scared i cant rent because they do criminal background checks
Hello and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you. There is no law preventing you from renting (obviously). But I'm sorry to say that landlords have no obligation to rent to you. The law does not protect felons from discrimination based on their criminal backgrounds. Something to consider may be renting from a private party (e.g., rent a condo from an owner rather than an apartment in a large complex). Private owners are less likely to conduct background checks on tenants.I hope that helps.
