Do you have the right to know if you are being investigated

Resolved Question:

Do you have the right to know if you are being investigated by criminal investigators. The reason for the investigation? I was told that I was but haven't been notified by the investigators personally.

No. A person doesn't have to be notified as to a criminal investigation. A person has constitutional rights but that is not one of them.

Now if you are in custody - they do have to give you Miranda warnings before they ask you questions.

However, as to asking you questions otherwise you can inform them you want an attorney present before you answer any questions but they don't have to give you Miranda warnings.
