What is the statute of limitations for a pedophile. What proof would be needed to bring charges if the victim insists on protecting the teacher.
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: Tennessee
Under TN law, any Sexual Abuse of children has a statute of limitations of 4 years from the act OR until the child turns 18, whichever is longer. As far as proof you would need witnesses or other evidence if the victim will not testify to the acts. The victim could not consent, so that would not be any defense to charges.
