What is Warrant When it can be issued ..if someone arrested

Resolved Question:

What is Warrant??? When it can be issued?..if someone arrested at 10 pm and put into Jail at midnight, could a magistrate issue the warrant at 2 AM next day?
This case is of Virginia State.
Isn't warrant to arrest the person should be issued before the person be arrested?

A warrant is a legally issued document that allow the police to take you into custody. It is normally issued when a person is charged with a crime or fails to appear at a court date. The person is taken into custody and depending on the warrant issued, may be allow to bail out of jail or could be held without a bond. A warrant is issued before a person is arrested.

As I have written that, the warrant was issued after the person was arrested and put into the jail....is that legal in misdemeanor case?????
Expert:  CrimDefense replied 7 years ago.
No, the arrest needs to be based upon something else. A warrant can not be issued nor would it make any sense, to have one issued after the person is in custody.
