Resolved Question:

I've been on felony probation for almost five years. I was violated back in 2006 and attended Drug Court which i succeeded successfully. I was just violated again this year for having a couple of drinks at my home, the first time in almost three years. I have only 5 months of probation left. Is there any way to just finish my sentence or get an early release?

Answer:

It is possible to motion the court to terminate probation early. If an individual has completed all programs required by the court and paid all relevant fines, the court may, upon a motion and using its own discretion, terminate probation early. However, the court has no obligation to do so.

Such a motion can generally be filed with the Clerk of Court. You may find that hiring an attorney to draft the motion would be an excellent investment.
