A Superior Court Judge has order that I not be able to use the police department, He has order that I not be allowed to pay my water bill, he has order that I not build a business, He has ordered that I not have my home inspected for safty. He had order that I pay $10,000 to stay out of jail, but another judge over turned the order. I feel my Civil Rights have been taken. I have been told by the Judical Standard Commitee that I will have to hire a lawyer, but I have no job. What should I do about this illegal order.

Olive , North Carolina Already Tried: The only thing I have done is contacted the Judical Standard Committee, in which the say the only thing they can do is recommend diciplinary action, but the order will not be changed unless I hire a lawyer. I have spoke with a lawyer and he said if an attorney goes against a judge's order, the attorney might as well close his business. My wife has nothing to do with my order but the judge has put the same demands on her. You might be thinking what is going on. But several years ago this judge and I had a run in. At that time he was the attorney for my children's mother and I was seeking visitation rights. I was charged with harassement in superior court. I represented myself. I lost my case and the judge gave me sixty days of prison, even though I had no record and he placed the other demands on me and my wife as I appealed the case. His order is written so if someone like the NAACP were to get involved, I would go to prison. Sounds crazy but that's the way he wrote the order.
I suggest that you contact the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) for assistance. They will ahve access to lawyers with great experience in handling civil rights violations cases who can advise you as to the actions that may be available to you with regard to this most unusual order. If the orgainization's attorneys cannot assist you for some reason, they likely will have a list of private attorneys who can.
