Unfortunately a contract can only be cancelled if it was a result of specific facts, such as fraud, or duress, or the very subject matter is illegality because a contract that requires a person to do something that is illegal is void as against public policy. Also if one does not have 'mental capacity' then the contract is void.
Some contracts have a liquidated damage clause so a party can cancel if they pay the amount listed as liquidated damages.
