In May 2016 I purchased a PARO cuddly (baby harp seal)

Customer Question

In May 2016 I purchased a PARO cuddly (baby harp seal) companion robot for my 98-year-old mother from an online Japanese website for $7000.
After I received the robot (all accompanying instructions were in Japanese) - I found the owner's manual online in English, which states that: "Although the robot has an anti-electromagnetic-wave shield, if you have a pacemaker, keep PARO away from your chest during use. Electromagnetic waves may interfere with the operation of pacemakers. In case of any malfunction of your pacemaker while using PARO, consult your doctor immediately."
I returned the robot for a refund but was refused. What recourse do I have?

I am sorry to hear this. Do you know if they have a local distributor or presence? Local meaning in the US? I ask because you could file a claim in small claims court.
