Dear Customer,

The procedure for this is handled by local regulations, but police department that recovered the vehicle will generally notify victims of crime that their vehicle has been recovered and the tow lot where the vehicle has been taken to.

In most jurisdictions, the tow company must release the vehicle to the crime victim at no charge. (If you have problems with the tow lot, contact the police department, the tow company may be in violation of their contract with the police department).

You can also contact your auto insurance carrier, even if your vehicle is not covered for auto theft, many carriers are willing to assist their insured with at least some support and phone contact information when attempting to recover their vehicle.
