My vehicle was towed from an unrestricted on a Sunday

Customer Question

My vehicle was towed from an unrestricted on a Sunday evening three hours after being moved, no citation was given, no warning. It cost me $784. I'd like to sue the city/PD/tow company for violating my right to due process and for stealing my property. I don't know where to begin, what KIND of lawyer I need, or even where to file my grievance..

You need to first contact the Police Department and ask why the vehicle was towed in the first place. If you do not get satisfactory answer, you need to contact your Mayor's office and file complaint.

The tow company is not liable because the company acted at the direction of the Police.

If your situation remains unresolved, you can obtain a local Attorney that handles traffic issues to assist you with the case.
