I am taking a 2-week trip to Italy in Sept. The tour group

Customer Question

I am taking a 2-week trip to Italy in Sept. The tour group (GETours through AARP) is saying I have to pay $900 extra for a private room because I have to use a cpap machine. I don't want to impose on my 2 friends who are also going by having a cot in their room every night and if I didn't use a cpap they could pair me with someone else at no extra cost. Their policy is if you use any medical device you have to have a private room. Personally I think a cpap is better than snoring but can they do this?

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to answer your question.
I am sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation.
Unfortunately, private tour group can establish its own rules and requirements and can legally require any traveler who uses any type of medical equipment to obtain a private room, for both privacy and safety reasons.
I wish you the best of luck!
